An Oak Cupboard Chest of Drawers by E.Gomme
Made of light oak, this cupboard chest has three shallow drawers above a central cupboard and three deep drawers below . It dates to the 1930s and its simple style is enlivened by classic period features such as exposed dovetails to the top, stepped sides and decorative handles made of wood, plastic and polished metal.
The remains of a paper label show that it was manufactured by E. Gomme, who went on to develop G-Plan after the Second World War.
71.5cm wide, 48cm deep and 138cm high. Internally, the top three drawers are each 7.5cm high, the bottom three are 16cm high and the cupboard is 30cm high.
In very good original condition. The lock is missing but this in no way detracts from the appearance or functionality of the item.
