A 1930s Oak Desk in the Cotswold School Style
Made of solid oak, with turned wooden handles and chamfered edges, this desk is very much in the Cotswold School style of the Arts & Crafts movement. It has two long above two short drawers and both the sides and the back are panelled. It was made in the 1930s for a Cambridge University hall of residence, from where it has only recently been removed.
The top is 115cm wide by 61.5cm deep and it stands 76.5cm high. The kneehole is 51cm wide and 59cm high.
In very good condition having been cleaned and repolished. There are a few old knocks and scratches in keeping with its age.
