A 1930s Walnut Bookcase by John Stark
This bookcase was designed by John Stark, c.1930, and is made from well-figured walnut. It has two glazed doors either side of a solid one and there are three adjustable shelves behind each. The simple shape is enlivened by the moulded top, the outswept legs and the quality of the matched veneers. It appears in 'Modern English Furniture' by J.C.Rogers, 1930.
139cm wide, 118cm high and 39cm deep.
In very good condition overall with a few minor watermarks and very slight shrinkage cracks in the veneers to the top and sides. Each door has a key.
