An Arts & Crafts Oak Drop-Leaf Table
This Arts & Crafts table is made of well-figured oak and has two leaves that drop through the use of a patented mechanical device (the "Witson Glida"). The simple design is enlivened by a stretcher with pegged through tenons and also by two grooves to each leaf where the thumbs are placed to operate the mechanism. It is perfect for seating two and will accommodate four at a squeeze. It dates to c.1930.
It measures 83cm wide when extended, 99cm long and 74cm high.
It is in excellent condition.
